Big Sky Brewing Beers

Big Sky Brewing Company is a unique little brewery located in Missoula, Montana. You may not think that you have ever heard of this brewery before, but if you have ever heard the name “Moose Drool” beer before, then you are aware of the brewery at hand. Moose Drool is probably Big Sky’s most famous beer that they put out, but is not the only award winning one. Big Sky comes out with a home run hitting line up of extraordinary beers that have a multitude of genuine tastes for any beer lover’s pallet.

Moose Drool- is their year long available brown ale. It is by far the best selling beer that has ever been brewed in Montana. It is chocolaty brown in color, and has a unique creamy texture. It is a malty beer with just enough hops present to keep it from being too sweet. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Scape Goat - is their award winning pale ale. It is a smooth, refreshing, and well balanced brew. Scape Goat took home the Gold Medal from the 1997 and 1999 North American Brewers' Association competitions as the best English style Pale Ale brewed west of the Mississippi! Scape Goat is brewed with pale, crystal malts, and Kent Goldings and Crystal Hops. Scape Goat is 3.8% alcohol by weight and 4.7% by volume.

Big Sky Crystal Ale - is their newest brew out of the gates. It features a delicate hop aroma and flavor from Hallertau, Liberty, and Crystal hops balanced by malty undertones. Big Sky Crystal Ale is a perfect choice any time of the year. Seasons change, your taste for Big Sky Crystal Ale will not. Alcohol content 3.8% by weight, 4.7% by volume.

Powder Hound - is their seasonal winter brew, and since it is their own creation, they also call it, “Rocky Mountains Strong Ale.” Powder Hound satisfies, with the fine hand selected British hops fully complimenting the smooth malt notes. After a day on the ice or in the snow, enjoy a Powder Hound Winter Ale. (Available November through March.)

Summer Honey - is a full flavored, refreshing summer seasonal ale. Brewed with a unique, balanced blend of spices, Northwest Hops, and Montana honey. Summer Honey is brewed during the early days of spring and released around the first of May each year. Light colored, light bodied, and very drinkable, Summer Honey sacrifices nothing to create a flavorful beer that can be enjoyed during the height of the Summer. (Available April through September)
