Welcome to Westside Liquor’s monthly cigar newsletter. It is our goal to spread the good word about new and exciting products in each and every newsletter. We also will give staff reviews of featured products to help you pick out a new cigar. In future issues we will also delve into informative articles so we all can better understand the contributing factors involved in bringing us our favorite cigar.

Havana Honey

In our last month's edition we learned the basics of cigars (cigar terms, how to light the cigar, how to store them) (December edition 05). This months edition we will be switching gears back into the cigar picks, and a new newsletter writer. The layout of these new entries will give a brief history of the cigar and my actual opinion of the cigar itself. I am not a cigar expert but I do enjoy a good smoke and will give you a cigar rating on my opinions of the smoke.

This months edition will be on a new cigar, and cigar company. This cigar has become one of my favorites. The Havana Honey. It was founded in 1997 by two cigar lovers Joe Gold and Randy Sutton. After coming up with the idea to start the company they purchased a factory in the Dominican Republic. They experimented with hundreds of different kinds of tobaccos until finding the combination that suited their new cigar. The cigar comes from a Cuban seed but is grown in the Dominican.

The Havana Honey has become one of the fastest selling premium flavored cigars in the US and is growing quickly. Havana Honeys come in two different sizes Del Sol, and Rio. They have a wide selection of flavors; honey, vannila, chocolate, and blackberry. Each flavor having its own unique taste. Most flavored cigars are sometimes apt to having an overpowering taste that takes away from the cigar, or sometime just not quite enough. The Havana Honey's flavor however is sutle enough that its gives an enjoyable combination of both.

This hand rolled slow burning smoke is definitely great to the last puff, and should be one that is added to your smoke collection. This Havana Honey receives an eight on my one to ten scale.

At Westside Liquor Smokeshops the Havana Honeys range from $3.99 for singles to $18.49 for 10 pks.
