Romeo Y Julieta

Named for the lovers in William Shakespeare's tragedy (1596) of the same name. The brand also is traditionally credited with the introduction of the "Churchill" shape in honour of the British leader Winston Churchill. Developed in 1875 by Inocencio Alvarez and Mannín García, this habanos brand immediately showed its quality by winning gold medals in four universal expositions between 1885 and 1900. But it really took off after its acquisition in 1903 by José Rodríguez Fernández, known as "Pepín", who introduce his cigars between the aristocracy and statesmen, making exclusive cigar band for his customers.

Styles of Romeo Y Julieta cigars you can find at the Westside Liquor Smokeshop Superstore in Waite Park (other locations may vary).

Bully: An excellent cigar for the price. It is consistently smooth with an even burn all the way to the end. It is mildly creamy and medium to full bodied with no bitter taste towards the end. The smoke is a beautiful blue with a very nice rich draw. A stubbier cigar with amazing qualities.

Price: $7.99

Cedros Deluxe #1,2: Cedros de Luxe series are much underrated cigars, as they have to be properly aged before smoked. Some veteran smokers say that these ones can be real gems in a few years if they are well aged. Numbers 1, 2 and 3 taste quite similar, being its main characteristics some leather and white pepper notes and a good draw and combustion.

Price: $9.99 and $6.99 respectively

Reserve Maduro: A slightly firm draw from the beginning which eases as it burns. This cigar has salty notes about it as well, which really encourages some to buy, but can turn some people off as well. A nice salty cigar and a glass of beer however is a perfect way to spend a night around a toasty fire. A highly consistent taste and a very even burn.

Price: $19.99

Vintage V: A cigar truly made for special occasions. It is a medium to full bodies cigar that a discerning smoker will never tire of. This is a beautiful and elegant cigar with a silky, oily appearance. Almost flawless draw and burn every time. This truly is the ultimate Romeo Y Julieta Cigar.

Price: $12.99

There are also 10 packs available of both the traditional Romeo Y Julieta shorts, as well as the Romeo 10 packs. The prices are $20.99 and $19.99 respectively.
