Macanudo Hampton Court Robust
Summer is upon us and it is not getting any cooler. Temperatures in the high 90's and the humidity at 100%, what a perfect time to hit the lake, golf course, or just sitting with friends grilling. Now the question I have for you is, what cigar are you going to give to your friends and family? Some like it dark, some like them light, so many cigars so little time. Well I will tell you what. I hand out the Macanudo robust, a great cigar to bring anywhere. Prepackaged in its own cedar wrapped tube means that you don't have to haul around your humidor with you just take and go and no worries.
For the folks that would like a little more information here is a little about the company and my take on the cigar.
The Macanudo cigars where introduced buy General Cigar Company in 1971 out of Jamaica. Now made in the Dominican Republic each cigar is still hand rolled one by one and the company continues to lead the industry as the largest maker of premium imported cigars.
The Macanudo Hampton Court Robust on the other hand was introduced in 1998. It boasts more depth and body then I have seen in most of there cigar du to the dark Connecticut shade wrapper and the combination of the sweetness of a Connecticut broadleaf binder and a fuller flavored bled of Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos this is very flavorful cigar yet keeping the classic Macanudo smoothness you would expect
Smoking the cigar you get a rich pre light aroma of coffee and earth. Getting in to the cigar the predominant flavor I would have to described as "sweetness" but that is too one dimensional a term for it. The "sweetness" was unique. This lasted thought out almost the whole time smoking this cigar. If I had a complaint it would be that the end got a little harsh but nothing you cannot handle. If I had to sum it up I would say "A fine medium bodied smoke with a slightly sweet finish. Definitely on my list of cigars to smoke again. I would recommend this cigar to my friends."
