PUNCH AFTER DINNER
As the days are getting longer and nights are getting colder and the fish are still not biting. I look to the cigar that will never let me down. With its commanding presence at 7 and ¾ inches long and it's 46 ring gauge, I was feeling right at home. So after toasting the cigar with my torch and the wind stuttering all the walls in my shack; the stogie produced irresistible earthy leather flavors with the strongest emphasis on the salty and acidic regions of my palate. About midway into the smoke, the tastes mellowed out and transformed into citrus and sweet notes - a wonderful contrast to the proceeding phase. Taking a look at the cigar, the wrapper surface was more coarse and veiny than most premium stogies. Even so, this did not turn me off on this esthetically beautiful cigar. The burn through out the cigar was pretty even with a nice draw. There are many things in life to be cherished, this cigar is one of them. With its dark and sandy Ecuador Sumatran wrapper and 2 hour long smoking time it is perfect when the fish are not biting and you have a couple of hours of time on your hands.

A little about punch The original Punch cigar was created in 1840 by a Cuban cigar manufacturer named Manuel Lopez. In an effort to attract the British market, he named the cigar after Mr. Punch, the cantankerous half of the Punch and Judy puppet shows, which also inspired the name of the famous British humor magazine. Produced in Honduras for Villazon Company under the direction of a great Cuban cigar master, Frank Llaneza, Punch has been a leading premium brand ever since it was first imported from Honduras in 1969. The cigar: Punch lives up to its name with a bold, full-bodied taste that appeals to men who follow their own instincts as opposed to following the crowd.
