Chillable Reds

The weather is warming up and its time to chill down your reds. Most people think that it’s a sin to chill red wines, but actually we have a tendency to serve our reds to warm. Red wines should be served at 60°F to 65°F. If your red wine is to warm it will taste alcoholic and course. The classic chillable red wine is your Beaujolais and can be cooled most as much as a white wine. Here are some reds to chill down this summer when your outside.

Louis Jardot Beaujolais-Villages - great with a grilled chicken sandwich.

Louis Bernard Cotes du Rhone - excellent with a burger off the grill.

Monticello Crianza - try with a pork sandwich or a veggie burger.

El Coto Crianza - great with a brat off the grill with onions and banana peppers.

The best way to chill down these reds is with an ice bucket filled half with ice and half with water. Chill these wines for about 15 minutes and remember to "keep one hand on the corkscrew and the other on the bottle".

Arrivederci!
