Pinot Grigio or Pinot Gris

If you're in Italy its known as the Pinot Grigio and if you're in France or Oregon its the PinotGris(Pee-no-Gree), same grape just different names. The fun thing about it is that these wines made with the same grape are completely different in taste, texture and body style. The majority of Pinot Grigios from Italy tend to be lighter, crisp and refreshing. They pair well with Salads, Shellfish or as a Aperitif. Pinot Gris from France or our own Oregon tends to be bigger in style and able to stand up to richer and bolder fare. Check out some of the great value wines coming from our own Washington State and Oregon.

Hogue Pinot Gris - this wine works well with Salmon off the grill.

Chateu Ste.Michelle Pinot Gris - a great value wine that works with Chicken or Pork off the grill.

King Estate Pinot Gris - top of the line wine. This is a wine worth trying at least once.

Pighin Pinot Grigio - great acidity, style and flavor. This is a top notch Italian wine.

Alois Legader Pinot Grigio - a favorite of mine and farmed Bio-dynamically.

Stop and check out our selection of Pinot Grigios and Pinot Gris. These are great summer wines and totally refreshing. Until next time remember to "keep one hand on the corkscrew and the other on the bottle".
